W'hrend OpenOffice.org seit 27.Januar 2010 als RC4 vorliegt, ermittelte
der IT Dienstleister Webmasterpro.de, dass
OpenOffice auf über 21% der Computer läuft. heise.de berichtet entsprechend, golem.de lässt noch auf die Nachricht warten.
So gut die Zahlen auch scheinen, ist es fraglich ob die Erhebung schlüssig ist. Nach eigenen Angaben wurden 1.000.000 deutschschprachige Internetbenutzer auf 100.000 deutschen Webseiten ausgewertet, über die thematische Streuung der Webseiten wird dagegen keine Angabe gemacht. So ist es ohne weiteres denkbar, dass überwiegend Privatanwender ausgewertet wurden.

The not so popular news are that there is critics to that device - or to the road Apple is trying to send us down. The FSF launched the "Defective by Design" to criticize DRM. Apple managed not only to extend DRM from media content to executable programms, but also has the power to influence and push it into mainstream computing. Which makes the iPad a truely culture changing device.
