The not so popular news are that there is critics to that device - or to the road Apple is trying to send us down. The FSF launched the "Defective by Design" to criticize DRM. Apple managed not only to extend DRM from media content to executable programms, but also has the power to influence and push it into mainstream computing. Which makes the iPad a truely culture changing device.

September 2009 - 2:01 — Andreas NeumeierGoogle sieht seine Lizenzvereinbarungen durch Custom Android ROMs verletzt - in der Tat handelt es sich aber um Custom ROMs, die nicht unter einer Open Source Lizenz stehen, sondern von Google entwickelt und gewartet werden - wie Mail, Calendar, Contacts und Youtube. Diese werden zwar in der "offiziellen" Distributin mit Android vertrieben, sind genaugenommen aber nicht teil der Platform.
